Pug Victory

I had a victory that any dog owner can relate to who owns a dog with a fold on their face. (The wrinkle above their nose). Ruby's fold is very deep and gets infected about once a year. It is pretty gross. I saw it was infected and I started using her fold cleaner and medicine daily. The infection cleared up hooray!!! Normally I end up at the vets office.

Meaningful Monday: "I am a child of God"

I know most kids do this but today Ted asked for a bowl for lambie for breakfast. It was this first time he has ever done this so I thought it was really cute.

For Meaningful Monday we did a lesson on being a child of God. I printed off a heart puzzle which I will not pretend Ted put together. I mostly did it while Ted attempted to help.

I also had a picture for Ted to color.

He prefers to color with markers.

While he colored I played a Mormon Message video which went along perfectly with the activity. It was a bunch of different people singing "I am a child of God"

Ted colored a crown which he hated.

And here is the finished picture... lovely.

TGIF and Fun Friday

To cap off the week we end with Fun Friday. I try to come up with a unique fun activity. In the end Friday's are not really fun. Friday's are the day when the kids are all worn out from a long week and everyone seems to be going stir crazy. I am right there with them.

This week I pulled out the play parachute I purchased at the consignment store. I was super excited when I found it. This was my first time using it and it worked great. Ted did his best to hold one of the sides while I waved it around. The other child I watch wouldn't hold on and anytime I lifted it up she would get scared. But Ted liked it.....

Here are some action shots.

Theatrical Thursday

As a follow up to the last post, Thursdays are called "Theatrical Thursday". So we will do an activity around dancing, singing, dress up, pretend play etc.

Today we did tissue paper dancing. I originally was thinking of dancing with scarves but since I don't have those cool juggling scarves, I changed the idea to tissue paper which I do have.

The tissue paper was great because it made lots of noise when shook.

This turned into a great activity for wearing Ted out. He eventually had to stop, sit down and read a book. It was cute.

Theme Days for Daycare

I have been in need of structure and motivation for my in-home daycare lately so I came up with the idea to have theme days.

We have Motivational Monday.

Each Monday will have an activity focused on spiritual uplifting.

We started with an activity I got off Facebook. I don't have the link but it is a printable with a countdown to Valentines Day. Each day the children look around for a heart. (Since all my kids are young I "hide" it in an obvious place.) Each heart has a description of God's love i.e. God's love is a gift, God's love is for everyone etc. and there is a scripture to go with it that I then read to the kids. They so far have enjoyed finding the hearts and then taping them up on the wall.

Tasty Tuesday

Like the name implies we make something to eat these days.

Unless you are a food photographer, I am an avid believer that pictures of food always look gross... but here is a pic of what we made anyway... it is peanut butter and jelly bars. They are alright...

Wet 'n' Wild Wednesdays

This is a day of messy activities like water, foam, sand, etc.

I started out simple with basically putting a bucket on the floor with water and plastic items.

Here are the before and after pics. You will notice that once the kids figured out splashing I put towels on the floor :) They had fun for quite a while. Until Ted realized his pants were getting wet and then he was over it. The clothes went right into the dryer after that. The benefits of working from home.

Also I apologize for the dot on baby's face. I wanted to respect the family's privacy.
